Of all the hip-hop groups formed in the mid-1990s, no one has been as prolific as Staten Island's Wu-Tang Clan. While the quality of their work, both collectively and individually, has ranged from landmark to puzzling, their place in the hip-hop firmament has long been closed for debate. With the upcoming release of compilation album Legendary Weapons, we've got the title track featuring Clan member Ghostface Killah alongside AZ and M.O.P.
Noah Rubin, best known for Wu-Tang's 2009 compilation album Chamber Music, cooks up the dark, ominous track in the vein of Wu mastermind RZA. Ghostface, in trademark stream-of-consciousness flow, squeezes in references from Al Qaeda to Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean" video to Wiz Khalifa, noting that Wiz's hit "Black and Yellow" is "that killa bee color scheme." AZ, still riding the buzz off a guest verse on Nas' Illmatic 17 years ago, delivers a solid, if unremarkable, verse, while M.O.P., sounding slightly more subdued than their trademark über-energetic delivery, could sound good over a dying cat. But then again, they still have to make up for this.
While rumors still swirl about a proper follow-up to 2007's 8 Diagrams, we'll take what we can get. Legendary Weapons is out July 26 on E1 Music.

Anyone with the ability to type and some stolen Wi-Fi thinks they're an advice-giving genius these days. So here's our expert advice: if you're looking for expert advice--specifically music advice--take it from an actual expert. Take it from Mark Ronson.
Dovetailing nicely with Mark Ronson & The Business Intl's new album, Record Collection, Mark Ronson fires off 10 must-have albums that you need in your life. While he offers the caveat that everyone's taste is different and he wouldn't presume to tell people what they need, we will tell you that Mark is clearly being too modest. These are awesome suggestions, and you should acquire these records post-haste.
Among the 10 must-have records Mark Ronson shares are classics from the likes of Radiohead, Beastie Boys, The Smiths, The Beatles and The Wu-Tang Clan.

When it comes to rap videos, they don't really make 'em like the used to. Before the late '90s Bad Boy/Diddy/Notorious B.I.G. era, hip-hop videos were largely made up of rugged dudes hanging out in rugged locales with their rugged friends. No glossy cinematography, magnums of champagne or shiny suits.
So call Sykzoo and !LLMiND's "Speakers On Blast" a throwback. Heck, that's what the Brooklyn-born Skyzoo calls himself! "Now they wanna bring the 90's back/That's okay, 'cause that's where they designed me at," he raps from a Brooklyn rooftop.
This is Brooklyn jeep music, the kind of Wu-Tang Clan-, Mobb Deep- and Nas-inspired East Coast hip-hop that will make the heart flutter for anyone who grew up on the golden age of hip-hop.
"Speakers On Blast" is a collaboration between Skyzoo and acclaimed producer !LLMiND, who laces the song with a cracking throwback beat.
Watch Skyzoo and !LLMiND's "Speakers On Blast" video below. The track is taken from the duo's Live From The Tape Deck, which is out now.

Justin Bieber's merchandising empire is bigger than you can possibly imagine. Just have a look. Justin Bieber water bottles, Justin Bieber silver plated charm bracelets, Justin Bieber lunch boxes. And with the edition of the Justin Bieber dolls. Dude sells a lot of stuff! It seems like there's no end to the ways in which J.B. can, in the immortal words of the Wu-Tang Clan's GZA, "diversify his bonds."
But maybe there should be an end? Maybe there shouldn't be an endless stream of Bieber-endorsed products baring the kid's likeness. Here are 5 Bieber products we don't want to see.
1. Justin Bieber Hand Sanitizer
In these crazy, plague-filled days, everybody needs a little hand sanitizer. But, honestly, it's probably not a good look for Bieber to associate himself with disinfecting, like, anything. "High School Musical" tried this. It didn't work.
2. Justin Bieber Battery-Powered Lollipops
Biebs is reportedly endorsing a Haribo candy. Let's just hope it's not mechanized.
3. Justin Bieber Wigs
These will likely be big at Halloween. Some folks have already gotten the jump on manufacturing them. But Justin Bieber's hair is his trademark, his signature. He shouldn't decrease its value by selling it off!
4. Justin Bieber Energy Drink
We'd all like to have the energy it took for Justin to perform his all-running, all-singing, all-dancing medley at the 2010 MTV VMAs. But J.B.'s audience is, largely, a younger one, and they should probably stick to the staples like milk or whatever else young people guzzle these days.
5. Justin Bieber Bibs
Like we said, Justin Bieber's fans tend to skew young, but not that young. If you're a full-fledged Bieber-fever-having fan, you should probably be able to chew with your mouth closed. Leave the baby bib game to Rod Stewart.
What other kinds of merch should Justin Bieber stay away from? Let us know in the comments!

Check this crew out! It's (from left to right) Beyoncé (nice hat, B!); Mary J. Blige; the recently wedded Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys; Mary's man, Kendu Isaacs; and last, but obviously not least, Jay-Z. This gaggle of hip-hop and R&B royalty were all having a blast, side stage at this weekend's Rock The Bells Festival on Governors Island in New York City.
While gang likely enjoyed sets from the likes of A Tribe Called Quest, Snoop Dogg and Wu-Tang Clan, they are pictured above reveling in the welcome return of Lauryn Hill, who performed her classic debut solo album, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.
According to MTV News, Lauryn Hill paid tribute to her famous fans by having Jay-Z come out to a round of applause during her performance. And Lauryn Hill had Mary J. Blige, Beyoncé and Alicia Keys join her during a reggae-fied take on the Fugees classic "Fugee-La." Headliners and legends, people!

To reinterpret a line from the movie "Field Of Dreams," if you tweet it, it will come. Hear me out. A couple of weeks back, right as Kanye West began his epic Twitter odyssey, one of the many things he endorsed was Justin Bieber's single "Runaway Love." More specifically, he tweeted, "Yo this Runaway Love is the truth!"
A mutual appreciation society began, with Kanye and Justin Bieber tweeting back and forth and eventually (somehow) famed Wu-Tang Clan top chef, Raekwon, got involved in the action. Kanye said he would produce a remix of the Bieber jam, featuring Raekwon. Sounded good in theory, but given the ratio of things that get tweeted about to things that actually happen, we put the odds of this actually going down at 20-1.
Well, never bet on Buzzworthy, because below you can check out the "Runaway Love (Remix)" featuring Kanye and Raekwon and their lil' buddy Justin. The beat is basically a flip of Wu-Tang's classic, "Wu-Tang Clan Ain't Nuthin' To F' Wit" and features solid verses from both MCs, bookending J.B.'s angelic vocals.
Check out the track below. Oh, Twitter! What will you give us next?

Asher Roth is a pretty easy dude to read. He loves college, so he makes a song and video that says as much. Now it comes to pass that the frat-rap hero also has a thing for whispery R&B chanteuse Toni Braxton. How do we know? He made a song and video about her!
Behold the adorable "Toni Braxton" video, an account of how the one-time-nerd-turned-rap-star got to the point in his life where he found himself grinding on the "Breathe Again" singer during a Las Vegas show. (Note: This actually happened!!)
This love letter of a song comes from Asher's Seared Foie Gras with Quince & Cranberry mixtape, but the video takes the Braxton sentiment to a whole new level. Rendered in Jetsons-esque animation, Asher raps over a classic GZA beat about how he once was picked last in pickup games but now finds himself suggestively dancing with Toni B. It's the new American dream, folks.
Check out the video (WARNING: NSFW LANGUAGE) below. And rewind with Toni Braxton's "Breathe Again."

Just when you thought it was safe to wear your red baseball cap backwards again, Fred Durst and his Woodstock-riot-inducing, "Nookie"-motivated band of brothers are back up in this mug like it's the summer of '99 all over again.
Behold, "Why Try," taken from Limp Bizkit's forthcoming album, Gold Cobra. If it seems like it was just yesterday that Courtney Love was making headlines by blaming Durst & Co. for ruining rock in the late '90s, that's because it was yesterday (basically). Like some kind of conjuring spell, Love's onstage dissing of Limp seems to have brought about this return. So let's take a listen to the evidence.
"Why Try" features the atonal guitar stylings of Wes Borland, the "rapping" of Fred Durst and a heavy-hitting, pit-inciting, nihilistic chorus that asks (and answers) the existential question, "Why try? You gonna die." It all sounds a bit like ... well, like Limp Bizkit. With perhaps a little Eminem thrown in for good measure.
Gold Cobra will uncoil later this year, with rumored appearances from Wu-Tang's Raekwon, Kiss' Gene Simmons and rumored song titles like "Douchebag," which is about bullies. While threatening, it's less grim than Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water.
Check out "Why Try"? below.
