Annie throws back to the '90s in her "Back Together" video.
Norwegian pop singer Annie has just released the music video for "Back Together," one of the tracks off of her upcoming Richard X-collabo'd The A&R EP (out Aug. 5), and it's SO FUN, AGHHH. These past two weeks have been SO GOOD for lesser-known Euro-pop, and we basically owe it all to Annie. First, she drops the audio for "Hold On," then again for "Ralph Macchio," before finishing it off with a free audio stream of her entire EP on SoundCloud. NOW THIS? We basically look like Annie up there in the photo right about now, gently quivering, emitting a soft and meek: "Ooooh-oh-ooh-oh..."

Teenage dreams do come true!! Katy Perry's next album is on its way.
+ ATTN KatyCats: Katy Perry has just announced her upcoming album and its release date with a little help from a gigantic gold-plated truck (#swag) bearing the letters, "KATY PERRY · PRISM · 10.22.13." Katy later confirmed the news, but not before Adam Lambert could give her props, tweeting "Yes @KatyPerry this is crazy!! Love it!" along with a photo of the truck. (MTV News)
+ Sorry, DJ Khaled, but Nicki Minaj is just not that into you (at least not in that way). She responded to Khaled's MTV News-delivered marriage proposal yesterday in a radio interview, saying, "Khaled is my brother and Khaled was not serious with that damn proposal, y'all. Please let it go. He was kidding." (MTV News)
+ Miley Cyrus' "We Can't Stop" video has been, er, unstoppable in the click department; it's surpassed 100 million views. Think you've seen it all ("it" being taxidermy runway shows and My Size Barbie m/o seshes)? Take a look at the director's cut. (MTV)
+ What's better than One Direction gracing the September cover of British GQ? How about each of the guys getting their own cover? Check out each individual cover here. (Just Jared Jr.)

Another Annie and Richard X collab! Listen to "Ralph Macchio" below.
Another week, another new song from Norwegian singer Annie -- we could get used to this! After last week's "Hold On" (aka the perfect background music for disco naps or moving sidewalks that only attract the hippest pedestrian clientele), today we are blessed with a brand-new cut: "Ralph Macchio." Like "Hold On," this track is another synth-filled collab with British songwriter and producer Richard X from the duo's forthcoming The A&R EP. Full disclosure before you read on: We are going to try our hardest/lamest to make a "Wax on, wax off" joke. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED.

Annie's mellow new track "Hold On" is softly blowing our minds.
Norwegian pop singer Annie's been gone for a minute, but now she's back with
"Hold On," the aptly titled song (seriously, it's been FOUR YEARS since 2009's Don't Stop) off of The A&R EP, her upcoming collab with songwriter and producer Richard X. (A&R, get it?) With soothing synth heavily pulsing, yet airily floating through every inch of the relaxed dance track, we feel like it's the soundtrack to a nightclub scene in slow motion -- NO WAIT! A daytime yoga class in fast-forward time-lapse, kinda like that movie "Koyaanisqatsi." OMG. Koy-ANNIE-sqatsi!!!! #MindBlown

It's Wednesday! Time for another round of "5 Must-Hear Pop Songs of the Week"!
This week's roundup includes the return of the Queen of Norwegian Pop, promising efforts from some rising British singer-songwriters, and some dubby, downtempo dance courtesy of the "Milkshake" songstress herself. Read on!
1.) Ralph Myerz featuring Annie, "Take A Look At The World"
She's all but disappeared since 2009's Don't Stop, but now Annie (the same songstress behind "Heartbeat," "Chewing Gum," "I Know Ur Boyfriend Hates Me," and the Italo-disco masterpiece "Anthonio") is back -- and just as brilliant. Norwegian producer Ralph Myerz enlisted the Scandinavian pop goddess to provide vocals on his brand-new single, "Take A Look At The World." A shimmering electro-pop creation co-crafted by the legendary Röyksopp, full of unbelievably catchy chants ("Oh-ah-oh-ah-oh!") and pounding electronic beats, "Take A Look" plays like a cross between the sleek, stylish shimmers of Girls Aloud, Mini Viva, and Dannii Minogue -- and maybe a bit of big room EDM influence too. Much like Annie's thirst to step beyond her city limits, the track deserves to go on a trip all around the world. It's massive. Really, though: Annie and Röyksopp? Who's surprised it'd be this good, honestly?
