When we first met Baltimore/Chicago's Diamond Youth, we immediately thought of our favorite distortion-based late '90s-early '00s alt-rock bands (Muse, Foo Fighters, Queens Of The Stone Age, Stone Temple Pilots). We pretty much based this on Diamond Youth's testosterone-filled, crazy-bananas, lose-your-marbles moshy "Orange" video and every guitar-driven track on their recently released Orange EP. But little did we know that Diamond Youth had a softer side for emotionally vulnerable R&B songs, most notably Frank Ocean's heartfelt jam "Thinkin About You," which lead singer Justin Gilman has thoughtfully covered below. Now we're thinkin' about not being so quick to judge...

Diamond Youth can only see the color "Orange" in their latest video.

Remember how we buzzed about Baltimore/Chicago's alt-rock quartet Diamond Youth last week? Well, now the boys are gearing up to release their upcoming Orange EP, which showcases an impressive set of Muse-meets-Foo Fighters-meets-Queens Of The Stone Age guitar-heavy rock cuts (see: "Cannonball" and "Separator"). And just a few days before releasing their identically named EP, Diamond Youth have unveiled a brand-new (and perfectly bizarre) video for their song "Orange."

Check out Buzzworthy's latest obsession: Diamond Youth.

Get to know Diamond Youth, like, ASAP.

Meet Diamond Youth. They're technically an "alt-rock" quartet, but if you ask us, their slinky-smooth sound kinda gives us Muse vibes and definitely falls more into the realm of "panty-dropping rock music." That is, if rock music could drop your panties like, say, Usher's "Climax." Moving right along... these four talented (and, let's be honest, attractive) bros seem to rarely be in the same place at the same time: though Baltimore's home, they've also got roots in Chicago (it's complicated and involves lots of frequent flyer miles, okay?), making band practice a challenge, which is where  iChat comes in. No, not in the A/S/L cyber way. Like, they actually practice online. So, they're totally the kind of musicians you could take home to mom because they could always have second careers as computer programmers should the music thing fall through -- which it won't.
