Selena Gomez performs "Come & Get It" at the 2013 Billboard Music Awards.

Selena Gomez performs "Come & Get It" at the 2013 Billboard Music Awards.

Award shows are kind of like high school -- watching from home is like being stuck at the nerdy table, but being at the actual event and hobnobbing with celebs is kind of like being asked to the senior prom as a freshman! Unfortunately we can't transport y'all to tonight's 2013 Billboard Music Awards, but we CAN provide you with the next best option: a beautifully curated list of the night's best, weirdest, prettiest, loudest, craziest, most rhinestone-studded and scandalous moments! So, without further delay, check out 10 of our favorite, most unforgettable moments from tonight's Billboard Music Awards!

1.) All-Justin Bieber-Everything: Tonight was DEFINITELY all about Justin Bieber! The 19-year-old singer performed twice -- once solo where he played a flight attendant (we DIE!!) for a performance of "Take You," and second, alongside his musical bestie/soul-mate/co-studded-jacket-wearer, will.i.am, for an epic collaboration of "#thatPOWER." Justin also took home a handful of of hardware -- Miley Cyrus presented The Biebs with Top Male Artist (also, did she or did she not MAJORLY roll her eyes after announcing him as the winner? Anyone?), and Cee Lo presented JB with the Milestone Award. Justin mayyyy have had one or two haters in the audience (did anyone else hear that chorus of boos?), but he's clearly doing just fine! Because in addition to Top Male Artist and the Milestone Award, Justin also snagged Top Social Artist award. Take that, anti-Beliebers! UPDATE: Miley's eye-roll was real!

2.) Selena Gomez performs "Come & Get It": Controversial bindi and all, Selena Gomez took the stage at tonight's Billboard Awards to perform her smash "Come & Get It." Rather than her "Hunger Games"/Katniss' "Girl On Fire" ensemble, Sel rocked a floor-length gold gown. But don't think for a second that all that extra fabric stopped Selena from rolling on the floor and nailing her choreography with the best of 'em! Unfortunately, we were KINDA bummed when rumors that Selena and Justin were sitting together tonight didn't pan out, but watching her hug Taylor Swift when Tay won her Top Artist award totally made up for it. Kind of.

3.) Madonna DOES NOT/WILL NOT AGE: Madonna earned the Top Touring Artist award at tonight's 2013 Billboard Music Awards, and, as we suspected, THE LADY DOES NOT AGE. We spotted a total of 0.0 wrinkles, crow's feet, mannequin lines, and/or body fat, making her not only the top touring artist, but living breathing proof that the fountain of youth does exist in some faraway, remote location you have to have as much money as Madonna to get to. And to further cement her agelessness, Madge took the stage in chains, fur, fishnets, and NO PANTS to accept her award. #OurSpiritAnimal

4.) Taylor Swift performs "22" for the first time live and pauses for a DANCE BREAKDOWN with the Jabbawockeez: We've already seen Taylor Swift's "22" video, but we could not WAIT to watch the professional Diet Pepsi drinker perform her "live young and be free!" anthem live. Taylor arrived onstage via various modes of transportation (bike, clothing rack, hot model, etc.), where she not only wore the most adorable crystal-studded unicorn T-shirt ever (PROPS X 1000000), but she paused for a dance breakdown with "America's Best Dance Crew" Season 1 winners, The Jabbawockeez. We'll also say that girlfriend totally WON THE NIGHT! Tay snagged the Billboard Artist of the Year award, the Billboard 200 Album of the Year award, Female Artist of the Year, Top Digital Artist, and Top Billboard 200 Artist, as well as all the country awards! NO WORDS.

young mc hangout fest ed sheeran

Meet Matt Webb, an Ed Sheeran dead ringer who dominated a surprise freestyle rap battle before Kendrick Lamar's Hangout Fest set.

Sorry, Action Bronson. There's a new ginger rapper on the come up. You probably hadn't heard of him -- and still haven't -- unless you were one of about 10,000 people under the Boom Boom Tent at the Hangout Festival waiting for Kendrick Lamar's set to start. One of the few drawbacks to having a music festival on the beach is that, well, it takes a little effort to get to paradise, and Kendrick Lamar was running about 30 minutes late to his set due to a travel delay. So Sway, who was introducing Kendrick, took to the stage to keep the masses entertained. And what better way to keep an Alabama hip-hop beach party going than to stage an impromptu rap battle?

Which is where my new favorite ginger comes in. Sway scanned the audience for any potential young MCs in the crowd. A few young hopefuls rose up and spit a few bars and quickly sputtered out. Sorry, kids. No Kanye contracts for you. Until the final MC -- a redheaded Floridian in a black tank top -- stepped up to the mic and, without even a beat to rhyme against, dropped some "8 Mile" knowledge all over the stage in what was, if I may, probably the fifth-best hip-hop performance of 2013 Hangout Fest right behind Kendrick himself, Macklemore, The Roots, and Public Enemy.

Watch the rap game Ed Sheeran win Hangout Fest's spontaneous freestyle rap battle after the jump.

+ It just took one tweet from Kanye West yesterday to get us super excited about new Yeezy music (we hope -- either that or he was tweeting Kim Kardashian's due date). "June Eighteen," he tweeted. Granted, that's not much info, but it could mean a new album or song (or baby) will drop that day. (RapFix)

+ Psy strikes us as a pretty humorous guy, so it seems fitting that the first book he stars in would be of the comic variety. The "Gentleman" singer's biographical comic book will be titled "Fame: Psy." (Billboard)

Ed Sheeran is officially the champion of MTV News' 2013 Musical March Madness!!

Congrats, Sheerios! Ed is officially the 2013 MTV News Musical March Madness champ!

Wow. After 40 million votes were tabulated, two voting servers overloaded, and 64 rabid fan armies competed (you guys, 65,899,660 people voted for Barack Obama in 2012, which... probably means something significant if you wanna spend today thinking about politics and pop culture, but ED SHEERAN!), we can finally lift Ed Sheeran's hand high and officially declare him the winner of MTV News' 2013 Musical March Madness tournament! When we say that we are stunned, we mean it, because the Sheerios upset both Thirty Second To Mars' Echelon AND Tokio Hotel's Aliens. Taking on just one of those bands is difficult enough, but Ed Sheeran's fans managed to topple both of them?! Dayum, Sheerios. Y'all crazy! Maybe since all you Sheerios worked so hard, Ed will get that second album out a wee bit faster for y'all. (Meanwhile, we're still working on that Best Redhead category at the MTV Movie Awards for you.)

And look Echelon, Aliens, and all the other very devoted and deserving fan armies: Take this as a learning experience. Next year, you guys will rally and vote 10 times as hard. But as for the remaining 11 months till next time, be sure to play nice. 'Cause sore loser is NEVER a good look, but winner is ALWAYS in style. And remember: It's just a game. We brought enough cupcakes for the whole class, so everyone just return to your seats, play nice, and be happy for Ed Sheeran.

Maybe we don't say this enough (and at the risk of sounding like Chandler on "Friends"), but could we love Ed Sheeran any more?? On top of writing and performing songs with globally famous acts like One Direction and Taylor Swift, the March Musical Madness finalist has got the finest self-depricating sense of humor on the planet (see his "Lego House" video for further proof). And sure, we listen to (and plot ways to meet) Ed on the reg, but right now we're feeling especially warm and mushy about Ed saying how he hopes there will be a "Best Redhead" category at the 2013 MTV Movie Awards. Which is SUCH a good idea.

So, who made Ed's nominee list? Oh, just Emma Stone in "Gangster Squad," Jessica Chastain in "Zero Dark Thirty," the tiger from "Life Of Pi," and Zach Galifianakis in "The Campaign," who isn't quite a redhead, but has, as Ed puts it, "a twinge of the ginge." Oh, Ed, now you're just making us blush.

Remember to watch the 2013 MTV Movie Awards this Sunday, April 14, at 9 p.m., and vote for your favorite finalist in MTV's March Musical Madness!

Check out Demi Lovato's cover art, Austin Mahone sings at today's White House Easter Egg Roll + Justin Timberlake hides "The 20/20 Experience" signed vinyl in today's Buzz Bites.

Demi Lovato unveiled her new album cover art.

+ Today's a GREAT day for Lovatics: Not only has Demi Lovato unveiled the name and release date for her forthcoming album (May 14 and Demi), but she also revealed its cover art: "I spy... http://www.demilovato.com," she tweeted. Demi's website led to another site where "scratching" the space with a computer cursor revealed the cover. We did the heavy lifting for you above. (MTV News)

+ Austin Mahone heads to Washington, D.C., today to perform at the 135th annual White House Easter Egg Roll. "When I started making videos online, I would have never imagined I would end up performing as part of such a long-lasting White House tradition," he said. (Billboard)

+ While some of us hunted for Easter Eggs this weekend, Justin Timberlake had a different hunt in store: In his case, the hidden treasure was five autographed vinyl copies of The 20/20 Experience. On Friday, he tweeted out photo clues for fans to find signed albums in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Memphis. (Idolator)

+ When touring, please leave your sword at home. Ed Sheeran brought along a "Lord of The Rings" replica sword on tour while opening for Taylor Swift. As they headed to their first destination, Sheeran said, "The plane is kind of taking off and [the sword] started sliding down and I was like, 'No!' It was just about to impale Taylor." Fortunately, no one was harmed. (MTV News)

+ In other Taylor Swift "Red" Tour news, Taylor was joined by Train's Patrick Monahan during her stop in Newark, N.J., on Friday. Watch the pair perform "Drive By." (Just Jared)

+ "Glee" star Cory Monteith has voluntarily checked himself into a rehabilitation center for substance addiction. "I love and support Cory and will stand by him through this. I am grateful and proud he made this decision." Lea Michele said of her costar. (MTV News)

Taylor and Ed sang a duet on the opening leg of Taylor's "Red" tour!

We've been rooting for Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran to BE AN AMAZING COUPLE ever since our hearts first melted from listening to their two-part harmony on "Lego House." Since then, they've snapped "awww"-worthy selfies, collaborated on the perfectly crafted "Everything Has Changed" (on Tay's monstrously successful Red), and now, Ed and Taylor are singing together on Tay's "Red" tour! Yep, in addition to (presumably) writing thousands of other hit songs on Taylor's tour bus, the two hopped on stage Wednesday night in Omaha, Nebraska to perform "Everything Has Changed" LIVE!
