NEW ALBUM RELEASES

+ Daft PunkRandom Access Memories: Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter, the vocoder-rocking electro duo behind Daft Punk, eschew the EDM mainstream with an awesome exploration of '70s and '80s touchstones on their first proper album in eight years. RAM hits the nexus between technology and organic, where synths flirt with warm grooving guitars; robotic voices commingle with emotional lyrics and singing. Guests include disco pioneer Giorgio Moroder ("Giorgio By Moroder") and Pharrell Williams vocals and Nile Rodgers' killer funk guitar work is featured on the indelible singles "Get Lucky" and "Lose Yourself To Dance."  Also check out "Instant Crush" with The Strokes singer Julian Casablancas, "Doin' It Right" featuring Animal Collective's Panda Bear, and the space-out euphoria of "Touch" featuring Paul Williams.

+ Thirty Seconds To MarsLOVE LUST FAITH + DREAMS: Thirty Seconds To Mars go to great lengths for their fans with their fourth studio album, from playing free shows at churches for their "Church Of Mars" dates to as far as outer space, where they launched the first copy of their single, "Up In The Air." Their "Conquistador" lyric video looks to the heavens as well, with clouds, thunderstorms, and Aurora Borealis providing the visual backdrop. Jared Leto, his brother Shannon, and Tomo Milicevic do eventually head back to earth, though, for "The Race" lyric video, which plays like an allegory for our animalistic pursuits, with actual wild animal footage.

The NationalTrouble Will Find Me: On their sixth LP, the Brooklyn-via-Cincinnati group The National enlist guests instrumentalists Sufjan Stevens and Arcade Fire's Richard Reed Parry, and vocals from St. Vincent's Annie Clark and Sharon Van Etten. Check out "Demons," where singer Matt Berninger's laconic baritone wistfully confesses: "I am secretly in love with/ Everyone I grew up with." While the band continues to create moody, paranoid compositions with wry lyrics, there is also some sweetness, such as on the yearning "I Need My Girl." Also check out upbeat driving rockers "Sea of Love" (which houses the lines from which the album's title is derived), and the skittering "Don't Swallow The Cap."

Check out more new album releases, upcoming TV appearances, and performances after the jump.

Fun. mourn a lost suitcase in their "Why Am I The One" video.

There are a lot of things that suck about flying -- the overpriced food, Netflix Streaming reject movies, screaming babies, armrest hoggers -- but perhaps the worst thing is when you have to check your bag (that could totally have fit in the carry on compartment!!), only to have it NOT reappear in baggage claim. Or worse, when you think it's gone forever, you walk away ready to sue the airline, and BOOM there it is. Which is exactly what fun. deal with in their video for "Why Am I The One," the latest single off of Some Nights.

"I liked the term 'Anklebiters,' when you're talking about kids or babies -- we also have a song on the record called 'Grow Up' -- so there seemed to be this thread in my brain about people who just really need to grow up and maybe open up their mind a little bit," singer Hayley Williams shared. Ellen DeGeneres and Beyoncé should present EVERY award together from now on.

Aside from the musical performances and the awards themselves, the best part of the Grammys HAS TO BE the unlikely, sometimes inspirational, and downright odd pairings taking place onstage. There were a lot of them this year, from Bruno Mars and Sting performing together, to Ellen Degeneres and Beyoncé teaming up to present an award. But those seem a little too, you know, believable to actually get us too excited. It's the less likely collaborations and concepts that we get truly amped about. That said, here are a few unlikely celeb collaborations the Grammy producers should seriously consider making a reality next year.

1.) Kelly Clarkson and Miranda Lambert: "I just got stuck to Miranda Lambert," Kelly Clarkson said, after winning for Best Pop Vocal Album. "There's a story in a song." That song is now a TV show, and it's called "Crazy Ex-Girlfriends," about two country-pop stars who get magically stuck together when they accidentally tell the same drunken story on stage in front of millions because they're "nervous speaking in front of people." Also, there's some sort of haunted fountain scenario going on -- we still need to sketch out the plot.

2.) Kelly Clarkson and Miguel: Failing that, let's team up Kelly Clarkson with Miguel for a song! That shouldn't be too hard either considering she's already on board. "I don't know who the hell you are, but we need to sing together. Oh my god, that was the sexiest thing I've ever seen," she said to the sultry crooner. We agree -- WILL SOMEBODY PLEASE MAKE THAT HAPPEN?

3.) LL Cool J and Twitter: That's all, really. Just an endless live feed of LL Cool J on Twitter. What's he tweeting now!? LOL. He just checked his @connect button. You're telling me you wouldn't watch that?

4.) Dave Grohl and "NCIS"' Pauley Perette fighting crime: Setting aside the fact that Dave Grohl's co-presenter Perette, aka the adorkable goth babe from "NCIS," was giving us some young Courtney Love vibes, or maybe because of that, we need to see these two paired up onscreen fast. "NCIS" is set in Grohl's old stomping grounds of Washington, D.C., after all. Here's a plot: Let's say Grohl goes undercover, wears a comical fake mustache on top of his comical actual mustache, and is investigating a series of rock and roll-related crimes (like, say, a cold case involving the resurrection of a beloved rock band that precious online nerds are mad about), and Perette, a secret fan of Grohl's, has to pretend she doesn't know who the team's new recruit is or else she'll blow his cover. Hilarity, and lots of gross black light revelations in seedy hotel rooms, ensue. Guest starring Pat Smear as Lieutenant Smear.
