Justin Bieber serenades his mom for Mother's Day.

Aaaand the "Best Son Ever" award goes to Justin Bieber!

What did you get your mom for Mother's day? Chocolates? Flowers? A prepaid paraffin mani-pedi? Yeah, well, ZERO OF THOSE THINGS compare to what Justin Bieber gave his mama, Pattie Mallette, for Mother's Day. Justin could have gotten his mom jewelry, an expensive vacation, or her very own private jet, but nope -- instead Justin publicly serenaded his mom onstage during his "Believe" tour stopover in Johannesburg, South Africa! WE CAN'T. And fine, Pattie may have been the second lady Justin serenaded in South Africa, but this time there were FLOWERS!!!

Meanwhile, MS MR and Bad Rabbits release their debuts (MS MR are on Thursday's "Late Show With David Letterman", Bad Rabbits hit "Jimmy Kimmel Live" on Friday), and The Wonder Years unveil album No. 4. Over on the tube, "American Idol" reveals its Season 12 winner on Thursday, and Kanye West is "Saturday Night Live"'s season finale musical guest. The week caps off with the 2013 Billboard Music Awards, which features performances by Prince, Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber, Miguel, and many others.

Demi Lovato, Vampire Weekend, Eve, MS MR, Bad Rabbits + The Wonder Years release albums; "Live From MTV" with Demi Lovato airs Tuesday at 3 p.m. ET at MTV.com, Kanye West's on "Saturday Night Live" + Billboard Music Awards air Sunday in this edition of The Week In Pop.

NEW ALBUM RELEASES

+ Demi LovatoDemi: Actress, "X Factor" judge, overcomer of adversity, world-class belter: These are just a few titles in Demi's talent arsenal. With her fourth album, her latter gift soars through 13 songs, which showcase that she's as confident leading anthems as she is demonstrating vulnerability. In the upbeat category, "Made In The USA" lifts the mid-tempo pop melodies into swooning territory with her big sing-along chorus, and "Heart Attack" and "Fire Starter" both pulsate. She turns a kiss-off into a rallying cry on "Something That We're Not," and "Really Don't Care" featuring Cher Lloyd is a hook-filled earworm. Meanwhile, the confessional "Warrior," "In Case," and "Nightingale" are affecting, inspiring ballads. Don't miss Demi's "Live From MTV: Demi Lovato" interview on Tuesday, May 14, at 3 p.m. ET on MTV.com!

+ Vampire Weekend, Modern Vampires Of The City: For Vampire Weekend's third album, the erudite, preppy pop rockers explore the heavy subject of mortality, but that doesn't mean they've lost levity. "Even though on this record we deal with some weightier things, we always still have a sense of humor, which I think is important when you're making music," frontman Ezra Koenig told MTV News. To wit, check out the rollicking, double entendre-titled "Diane Young." The hymnal "Obvious Bicycle" opens the set before they move into the galloping trill of "Unbelievers," and check out hip-hop-influenced harpsichord-led "Step," with its quirky, freewheeling lyrics.

+ EveLip Lock: It's been more than a decade since the Philadelphia rapper dropped an album. In the time between records, she's been acting in films like the "Barbershop" series and "Whip It," and more recently as a returning character in "Glee." With Lip Lock, Eve strikes a balance between fierce MC (with songs like "She Bad Bad") and pop-minded (tracks like "Make It Out This Town" featuring Cobra Starship's Gabe Saporta). Check out her "Eve" video with Miss Kitty. Guests include Missy Elliott and Nacho ("Wanna Be"), Snoop Dogg ("Mama In The Kitchen"), Dawn Richard ("Keep Me From You"), and others.

Check out more new album releases, upcoming TV appearances, and performances after the jump.

Justin Bieber enjoys a beer when there are possibly wild animals nearby in South Africa.

Justin Bieber enjoys a cold beer in the jungle.

Alllllllright, ladies and gents. Let's all just calm down and approach this situation -- the above photo of Justin Bieber enjoying a cold beer in the jungle -- with logic and reason. Because yes, it may be a little off-putting to see the once purple-obsessed baby tot act all adult with a beer in hand, but then again, what's the kid supposed to do? ONLY hydrate with water for the rest of his life?

Anyway, before y'all get all up in arms about how Justin's still technically underage, consider this factoid: Per our calculations, Justin's "Believe" tour is on a stopover in South Africa, where the legal drinking age is 18. That's one year younger than Justin, who is 19, which also means he's also old enough to drink in his home country of Canada. Along with the above photo, Justin succinctly captioned, "Beers in the jungle." So yeah, we guess the moral here is that Justin Bieber is 19, and he drinks beer. Also, we feel like if you're old enough to sit shirtless while your girlfriend caresses your midsection, you're probably old enough to have a drink (in Africa). We would, however, advise Justin NOT to Instagram his alcohol intake in the future, mainly because we assume that there's NOTHING, and we repeat NOTHING, more frightening than an angry swarm of "Moms of Beliebers" coming atcha!

Justin Bieber personally serenaded one lucky Cape Town Belieber at a show.

This Belieber's life will NEVER be the same.

We're pretty sure that when 98 percent of Beliebers go to bed at night, they are lulled into a deep sleep by thoughts of being serenaded by their king. We assume the fantasy goes something like this: You show up to a stopover on Justin Bieber's "Believe" tour, your nosebleed seats are magically upgraded to, like, third row-center, and just as Justin starts singing "One Less Lonely Girl," he looks directly into your eyes, beckons you up on to the stage, and sings to you and only you for the next five minutes! Yeah, we know it's only a fantasy, but you know what? For one lucky Cape Town Belieber, most of that dream came true last night!

As you can see in the above photo, one of the luckiest Beliebers of all time got serenaded by Justin last night during his "Believe" tour stopover in Cape Town. (We can neither confirm or deny that her seat was upgraded, or whether Justin sang "One Less Lonely Girl," but the serenading and the gazing? THAT REALLY HAPPENED.) Along with posting the picture to Twitter, Justin captioned, "Great moment last night. #capetown #BELIEVEtour." Uh, great moment for JB, life-changing moment for what must be the HAPPIEST girl in the world. Wonder if her "cool" status will go up at school, or if she'll forever be regarded by her teachers and peers as "the girl who touched Justin Bieber"? This is the stuff of legends!

Is Cody Simpson becoming Justin Bieber?

Is Cody Simpson becoming Justin Bieber? Survey says... YEP.

As long as we've been pop star experts, we've been more or less convinced that if anyone was going to morph into Justin Bieber, it'd be his (unofficial) 17-year-old protégé, Austin Mahone. I mean, Austin has straight up SAID that Biebs is his musical idol, we're pretty sure that the two singers follow the same shirtless workout routine, and they both got their start on YouTube. What more proof do you need? (Other than that Justin Bieber is also morphing into Vanilla Ice? Never mind -- we got off topic.) But you know what? We may have gotten our pop star wires crossed at some point, because how could we have missed the glaringly obvious new development that CODY SIMPSON, not Austin Mahone, is totally becoming Justin Bieber?! You think we're kidding? LOOK AT THIS PHOTO. It's like looking into a white tank top/hair-spiked mirror!!
