the dream's IV Play

NEW ALBUM RELEASES

+ The-DreamIV Play: Producer and R&B singer-songwriter Terius Nash, aka The-Dream, has had a busy year, between crafting IV Play (where he gets NSFW naughty with words and with not-so-subtle bedroom come ons), and producing Kelly Rowland's Talk A Good Game. The pair are on tour together, but most of the dates will be rescheduled due to Kelly's "X Factor" judge schedule. Listen to his romantic slow jam "Where Have You Been" with Kelly. Also check out his sultry "Turnt" with Beyoncé and 2 Chainz, the catchy "High Art" with Jay-Z, and watch his derriere-worshipping "Slow It Down" video featuring Fabolous. "IV Play" is a song that The-Dream told MTV News "may be my best song ever as an artist," and caused him to change his original album title from Love IV to IV Play.

+ Little MixDNA: Little Mix -- Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirwall -- first made waves when they won 2011's "The X Factor U.K.," marking the first time a group won in the show's eight-year history. They bring their DNA debut Stateside today, after climbing the U.K.'s Top 40 last year. Watch their colorful "Wings" video, and check out their kiss-off tune "How Ya Doin'?" with Missy Elliott, which samples De La Soul's "Ring Ring Ring (Ha Ha Hey)."

+ Various ArtistsTrue Blood, Music From The Original HBO Series Volume 4: Between the "Twilight" film franchise and "True Blood" TV series, a case could be made for vampires having a discerning taste for blood and excellent music. For "True Blood"'s fourth soundtrack installment, the album compiles songs featured from the series' fifth and upcoming sixth seasons (premiering June 19). Highlights include The Animals' Eric Burdon with Jenny Lewis' noir rendition of The Animals' classic "Don't Let Me Be Understood," The Flaming Lips' "Your Face Can Tell The Future," Iggy Pop and Best Coast's Bethany Cosentino's punk rock duet, "Let's Boot And Rally," My Morning Jacket's cover of The Byrds' "Turn! Turn! Turn!" and Alabama Shakes' "Pocket Change."

Fall Out Boy, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Olly Murs, Major Lazer, The Flaming Lips, The Thermals, Ghostface Killah, Kid Cudi, Charli XCX release albums in this edition of The Week In Pop.

NEW ALBUM RELEASES

+ Fall Out BoySave Rock And Roll: By now you've heard FOB's new album (if not, get on it, and check out our track-by-track review!), the first since their hiatus some four years ago. While FOB's album title may imply some bombast, the band's earnest mission to make a record for themselves pays off in ambition. Fall Out Boy are back with a vengeance in the back-to-back fiery anthems "The Phoenix" and "My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark (Light Em Up)" with 2 Chainz. Soulful singer Patrick Stump exudes confidence with his vocal acrobatics on "Where Did The Party Go,"  the falsettos of "Death Valley," and with the rich inflections on "Just One Yesterday" featuring Foxes. Courtney Love ("Rat A Tat"), Big Sean ("The Mighty Fall"), and Elton John ("Save Rock And Roll") also make appearances.

+ Yeah Yeah YeahsMosquito: On their fourth album, Yeah Yeah Yeahs blend disparate music styles. "It's kind of like a Yeah Yeah Yeahs soul record -- our version of one -- but it's also really playful and tongue-in-cheek sometimes. I think it's got something for everyone," Karen O explained in their video premiering Mosquito. Penned in New Orleans, "Sacrilege" features a gospel choir and "Subway" is an ode to New York with looping rhythms courtesy of a rumbling train. They explore roots reggae in "Under The Earth," and the churning, James Murphy-produced "Buried Alive" features Dr. Octagon. They lean romantic as the album closes with "Always" and the atmospheric "Wedding Song."

+ Olly MursRight Place, Right Time: U.K. sensation Olly Murs already has three albums under his belt and he's toured with One Direction, but he hadn't yet released an album Stateside... until now. For the 2009 "X Factor" runner-up's U.S. debut, songs from his No. 1 U.K. album of the same name are packaged with tunes from his sophomore album, In Case You Didn't Know ("Heart Skips A Beat," "Dance With Me Tonight," and "Oh My Goodness"). Watch Olly perform his smash hit "Heart Skips A Beat" (the recorded U.S. version features Chiddy Bang), and watch his video for "Troublemaker" featuring Flo Rida.

+ Selena Gomez's "Spring Breakers" costars James Franco and Ashley Benson showed their love for her by lip-synching her song "Love You Like A Love Song," in a video. Also in the clip, James Franco inexplicably wears a pink ski mask at the beginning, and later sports a blonde wig and halter top. Yes, your guess is as good as ours. (Hollywood Crush)

+ Usher and Shakira made their "The Voice" season 4 coaching debuts last night. So how did they do? We think they slipped quite comfortably into the chairs vacated by Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green. (MTV News)

+ "American Idol" season 12 contestants' fates are still to be determined, and so is Nicki Minaj's role as judge. "Would I come back next season? I think people would rather be surprised," Nicki said during a conference call with reporters. "I like to save the mystery and the drama. I'd never give that away." (MTV News)

+ Jessica Sanchez, the "American Idol" season 11 runner-up, will join the cast of "Glee" for a two-episode stint in April. "I'm playing a student from a rival school who is supposed to be a legendary diva -- a powerhouse singer," she said of her role. (Just Jared Jr.)

Welcome to Buzzworthy's "The Week In Pop," where we round up new album releases, talk show musical guests, and TV performances by your favorite pop stars and more (so you don't have to).

This week, Lil Wayne drops a sequel album, I Am Not A Human Being II, and A Rocket To The Moon release their sophomore full-length, Wild & Free. Meanwhile, Senses Fail go heavy on Renacer, The Strokes experiment on Comedown Machine, and Wavves (who appear on "Late Night With David Letterman" on Wednesday) drop their fourth set, Afraid Of Heights. Also releasing new material: Depeche Mode, Dido (she's on Tuesday's "VH1's Big Morning Buzz With Carrie Keagan" and "Live With Kelly And Michael," and on Wednesday's "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon"), OneRepublic, and Blake Shelton (catch him Thursday on "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon" and "Live With Kelly And Michael"). Speaking of Blake, TV singing competitions heat up when Shelton and Adam Levine return to "The Voice" with new coaches Usher and Shakira for tonight's Season 4 premiere.

Lil Wayne, A Rocket To The Moon, Senses Fail, The Strokes, Wavves, Depeche Mode, Dido, OneRepublic + Blake Shelton release albums; "The Voice" returns with Usher and Shakira in The Week In Pop.

NEW ALBUM RELEASES

+ Lil WayneI Am Not A Human Being II: Fresh out of the hospital, Weezy rebounded from a scary seizure in time for the release of his 10th studio album, which may be one of his final albums (he said Tha Carter V will be his last, sadface). In the meantime, he's enjoying the spoils that he's earned over almost 20 years in the biz, living it up in the appropriately named "Rich As F***" video with 2 Chainz and partying in a casino and strip club on "No Worries" with Detail. He moves the party into the bedroom with slow jam "Love Me" featuring Drake and Future, and Weezy ends on a high note with the club banger "My Homies Still" featuring Big Sean.

+ A Rocket To The MoonWild & Free: Singer/guitarist Nick Santino and company's sophomore effort picks up where they left off on 2009's On Your Side, honing their blend of rock, emo, folk, and pop with touches of country. Check out the sunny acoustic stroll of "Whole Lotta You" (and watch their behind-the-scenes video for the tune), and for the more emotional side of the alt-rock spectrum, grab a box of tissues and watch the heartstring pulling, romantic video for "Ever Enough," which features Disney star Debby Ryan.

+ Senses FailRenacer: The name of the album is telling, meaning "to be reborn" in Spanish. Senses Fail have made some changes since 2010's The Fire. Songwriter-guitarist Garrett Zablocki left, and he was replaced by Strike Anywhere's Matt Smith, and they've moved into heavier musical territory, too. Check out the scorching "Holy Mountain" and "Mi Amor," which Buddy Nielsen sings partially in Spanish. There's also "Closure/Rebirth." which beckons to "Let It Go" before culminating in a wave of static. Stream Renacer on Buzzworthy.

Lady Gaga is recovering well from her hip surgery, and her manager says she's ready to work.

+ She's one of the hardest working women in the biz, so it's not surprising that Lady Gaga wouldn't let a little hip surgery get in the way of her work. Her manager, Vincent Herbert, says she's "doing unbelievable" and is "ready to get back to work" on her new album, ARTPOP. (MTV News)

Usher teams with Diplo again on his brand-new song, "Go Missin'"

If it ain't broke (and everyone is OBSESSED WITH IT), then don't you dare fix it! We're of course referring to Usher and producer Diplo's outstandingly successful musical relationship: Last year, the duo's initial collab, "Climax," won Usher a Grammy for Best R&B Performance AND went on to hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs. Now, exactly one year after revealing "Climax" on Valentine's Day 2012, the "chemistry"-filled duo is at it again, this time with a new track, "Go Missin'." (Also released on Valentine's Day -- those guys are such romantics!)
